Ente Veedu comfortable and peaceful homestay
Between 9th and 12th of October 2008 myself and my wife was guest of Seetha, owner of Ente Veedu Homestay. Many times I have visited this place but always was unhappy in hotels due to exhorbitant rates and level of pathetic services provided, hence I have selected homestay this time by Mrs. Seetha.
Mrs. Seetha found to be a very cheerful person and I personally find her very happy in doing and developing her business single-handed without much help from outside.
Though I am permanently residing in Switzerland for the past 30 years, I also have a close relative 30 k.m. away from Ente Veedu and was surprised how Mrs. Seetha developed her Homestay business with courage and enthusiam which most of the women lack in this part of the world.
The location is superb and tranquil. Food provided is authentic and fresh. Breakfast was served to us personally by Mrs. Seetha. No doubt that there was a homely feeling at her home.
Rooms and bathrooms are clean and basic but promised she is in the process of upgrading it soon to meet overseas guest's requirement. Also you can avail transportation for which prices are reasonable and very reliable local drivers personally known
to Mrs. Seetha.please don't go for hotel accommodation instead a homestay like Ente Veedu. Cheers.

Fell in love with this place(Ente Veedu)......ArunKAugustine
We just returned to Bangalore(India), from Wayanad(Kerala).
And beleive me, We had an awesome time here at "Ende Veedu". Hospitality, Love, Care is at its best here, you will not be bored here as there is always something to keep you busy(Badminton, carrom, chess, cards, camp fire, pond side view etc).. Now I really feel 2 days are very less to experience all this. Due to time crunch we could not enjoy all these things at its fullest. But if you have 4days then with the help of local guide and Mrs.Seetha(Ente Veedu owner), you can live life at its fullest.

What an experience!
Our stay at Ente Veedu was a highlight of Kerala. Seetha and her lovely family made us feel more than welcome and after just 3 nights it was hard to leave. We were taken on a tour of their expansive spice plantation and enjoyed 3 delicious meals a day - possibly the best in India! The homestay is located in beautiful surrounds in the Wayanad district, a region not yet on the tourist trail but this will surely change. We will definitley be back and will look no further than Ente Veedu.

We went to wayanad on the occasion of our first marriage anniversary..
We booked the stay thru "signature holidays".
The "Ente veedu" is really a superb place to stay.. Very calm place ,sorounded by estate.. homely food and good hospitality by Mrs. Seetha Raj. Food was delicious.
Also its in center of wayanad. From ente veedu its easy to commute to pookut lake, view point, edakkal caves, Kurva dweep.

Wonderful family, Wonderful place
We have just toured Kerala and we stayed for several nights at Ente Veedu home stay. The home stay is on a family plantation with some of best views we saw in Kerala. If you want to enjoy the wonderful hospitality, Home cooked food and all the local activities they will make available for you. We went to Pookot lake, saw local Jain temple ruins, visited the oldest Vishnu temple in Kerala, Wildlife sanctuary, Edakkal caves (very strenuous but worth it) and Kuruva Dweep (Large Island forest). There are plenty more things to see there i.e. 200 metre waterfalls, our trip was sadly time constained due to our tour schedule. If you want to stay somewhere close to a lot of different places in Wayanad with the best host (Seetha) we had on our tour then this is the place for you. If you have children they will not get bored as Seetha has plenty to keep them entertained as well. If no children then enjoy the area for what it is, beautiful scenery, Interesting history and architecture and last but not least wonderful people. We just had our tour bus and driver, Seetha provided our local guide while we stayed in her home. Our time at Ente Veedu (my own home) was the most enjoyable part of our tour and where we made to feel most welcome which is a hard thing to say because everyone we met in Kerala was welcoming and friendly.

Awesome getaway
Just returned from a trip a Wayanad and just fell in love with the place.. Its nature at its best and is a place untouched and not exploited by urbanisation... This gorgeous place has much to offer and u cannot be out of places to see here... This district of Kerala offers excellent wildlife viewing opportunities, an insight into tribal culture evocative of earlier centuries, trekking and other adventure activities, and a variety of remote monuments. The hills, rocks and valleys which give shape to the very unique terrain of Wayanad provide for exceptional adventure experiences.
Stayed at Enteveedu homestay (----) and enjoyed there...The family which runs it is in the agriculture business for generations ..The hospitality was great and the home made food was delicious......It was worth the money and had lot of precious memories too....I would recommend this place to stay for anybody who plans to go to Wayanad.... You feel like you are very close to nature here... |

Thank you Ente Veedu
Mrs. Seetha and her family really looked after us and made us welcome in their lovely home. They gave us informative tours of their paddy fields and plantations, plus delicious food at each meal. The only negatives would be: more information about the various activities in the region would have been useful. The hospitality made up for these shortcomings and I would definitely recommend this experience as a change from staying in hotels. Good luck to Ente Veedu.
